I am in chpt. 13, can I convert to chapter 7, I live in Michigan?

I have been in chpt. 13 for 2yrs, I added my house to prevent foreclosure, now I can't make my payments, lost my job and want to convert over to chpt. 7 ,and just let the house go to forclosure.

1. just so you know they can not kick u out till 6months!
2. Bankruptcy in chap 13 or 7 will not stop a foreclosure.... although it could delay it. You could try to change, you need to talk to your attorney, but there is no point in doing that.
3. Consult a Bankruptcy Attorney. All the laws changed recently, and they vary with bankruptcy district.
4. Then talk to your BK Lawyer or trustee. Why can't you get anotehr JOB?
5. i don't have an answer for you, but my house is also in foreclosure, in Michigan. you could try acclaim legal services. their on north saginaw in flint. maybe they can help. and to the person that asked, why can't the one asking the question get another job? this is Michigan, there are no jobs. and if there are the employers only want certified this or qualified that. i've been looking for a year now.
