How to achieve top level in Property & Real Estate Industry.?

Just been considering getting into a Real Estate and Property Management career in older life. If anyone could tell me (With links) what courses to take and so on to achieve what is esentially the highest level in the industry before getting an official jobs. Information sites/course links, etc would be appreciated.

1. Links for the whole country are impossible, because every state has different laws for licensing. Please add your state to your question. You have to work hard and smart to obtain the highest level. Pretend you are always looking for a new job when you make contact with people, as anyone could be your next client. Maintain contact with all your past customers and ask for referrals.
2. Go to the Appraisal Institute's website (Appraisalinstitite.com) and to the website of a national real estate company such as Weichert or Coldwell Banker. Click on education and you'll find everything you need. Courses are given at community colleges across the country, but can be obtained for a reduced rate from real estate companies if you will agree to work for that firm.
