1. People need to learn to take care of themselves for Christ's sake. The founding fathers never intended for the US to become a "nanny state." And neither do I. No damn government is going to "take care" of me.

Yes.thank you very much it is indeed a wonderful legacy that you right wing waste of space, fuck wads have left us with, potentially- don't be surprised if you should meet some civil opposition by sane and well meaning people who will blow your arse away should you misbehave for even a moment.There is absolutely nothing reassuring about the right wing format that should preclude my targeting of them in any sense of the word.
3. The simple fact is that in the current recession, many people will be without health insurance through no fault of their own. My view is that the government should be there for the people in the people's time of need (note, not want). FACT - the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet. FACT - the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage. That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, Cuba, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.
