8. I don't dispute much of what you had to say but you left out some pretty key details like Clinton's success was also fueled by having the good fortune of a Republican controlled Congress. It was also very wise of you to not point out the overwhelming negatives of having a Democrat Congress along with an inexperienced Democrat President, otherwise known as the Carter years. Point of fact, it was so bad then that the Misery Index was actually created during his Presidency. He did nothing while Americans were held captive by the Iranians for over a year! There was double digit inflation as well as unemployment. Gas shortages and insanely high taxes! Economically, the Carter years were the worst period since the Great Depression. Of course the GD years was made worse by the economic policies of FDR. Hoover got us into the Depression but FDR kept us there. Also, those Democrats you mentioned were also not as liberal and clear about their intentions to change America from a capitalist society into a socialist one.
