  1. Count on the effects of bad credit to last at least 24 months from the date that events like charge-off, BK's and foreclosures happened as your credit score is most heavily weighted by what has occurred in the past 24 months. Only the passing of time can heal this damage...sorry. There are no quick fixes... Don't allow yourself to be scammed by any company that promises that they can remove foreclosures and repo's off your credit file...the only thing they CAN do effectively is take your money. The one thing you can do is get a secured credit card and pay that on time every month...this would help you to (eventually) build up your credit score.
  2. The worst part is certainly going to be your foreclosure. Save as much as you can of your $65K/yr, your gonna need it ! The best thing you can do right now is if you don't already have a credit card in good standing, get a secured card (if you don't qualify for a unsecured one) and use it VERY sparingly, just charge $100 here and there for real purchases like groceries and pay it back in full and on time each month. It'll take about 6 months to start turning your credit score in your favor. It won't happen over night so be very diligent about keeping your existing accounts current. Don't apply for any credit whatsoever and save, save, save.
  3. I would recommend 2 things: 1) a very low cost (possibly free) credit repair program to try to have the negative items removed. 2) I would add a tradeline program to boost your score quickly (60 days or quite possibly less). A friend in California used this and got a 120 point bump from 560 to 680. My friend in California went through www.totaldebtsolutionsllc.com and called their toll free# or filled out the free evaluation form to get the ball rolling. Good luck.
