How despicable can you get? The GOP in Michigan tried to remove voting rights for people who lost their homes?
in the state. It has been labelled "The most despicable act of caging" Ovbiously this is 100% illegal, but what does the law matter when you are a Republican. The Democrats have filed lawsuits. Link is below. http://www.michiganmessenger.com/4463/obama-campaign-files-suit-over-foreclosure-lists

- The Democrats make dead people and illegal aliens vote.
- They're desperate. So Rob, you support that type of thing? Illegally changing the course of elections? Do you even understand what democracy is? What would Jesus do? Nice turn around. Sorry Rob but I do believe in Jesus and you and I both know that your behaviour is most certainly not something he would endorse. I don't claim to be a follower like you but I will say "judge not lest ye be judged" and remind you to reread your bible, especially the new testament.
- The GOP are just trying to save Michigan. My God...Michigan has almost been destroyed by the liberal democrats that run that state. How they get elected is beyond me, some how that chain of patheticism must be broken. I read the article, all it keeps saying is that Obama and democrats are accusing the GOP of this. I bet that once the facts are known, this isn't the way you make it sound. Looks like another drive-by media hit. Drive by, make accusations that aren't true, then keep driving to see how it all falls out. Non-story.
- They're trying to prevent voter fraud, something very common with the Democratic Party. In fact, people employed by the NAACP are often found guilty of such things.
- those Republicans, please don't blame Michigan for that, those people were probably from another state originally, I can only hope, that's where I grew up, people aren't like that there
- The democrats are just mad that they didn't think of the idea first.
- Indeed. There's also notices being sent to out-of-state college students (who of course tend to vote Democratic) that they must vote in their home state and any attempt to vote at college will result in their being arrested. All of which is of course not true. And btw, you gotta love the tyipcal Republican answers to your questions: "Well, the Dems do something wrong so that gives the Repubs the right to do it too!" Way to seize the high moral ground there!
- That is ridiculous and I can't believe that I hear people defending this. Every single American citizen over 18 has the right to vote. Of course there are extenuating circumstances, but losing your home is not one of them. All you really have to be is 18 or older. These rights and freedoms are what is what America is all about. How can anyone not take issue with people's rights being infringed upon? I'm sickened. EDIT: @xiphos: Sorry, that article does not convince me that this was a lie. What it says is that when called out about it, certain individuals denied it and claimed that people should not go digging to find out the truth because there was never any plan. So, just because the parties deemed guilty say it's untrue you'll believe it? Right. I personally don't see anything in that article that totally debunks it.
- With the economic crisis and McCain's fumbling and making the wrong calls, Obama has t aken the lead back in the polls. The Republicans are once again desperate and desperate Right Wing Republicans (NeoCons) will do or say anything - but as the media and the rest of us catch onto their game - it all is backfiring because when people are really hurting, the people want real answers. Not back biting or beauty queens from Alaska. Real answers and the Republicans are not about real answers but cronyism and character attacks. Debates coming up. If Obama does well - it's "Goodbye McCain and hello Obama!"
- Yes, I thought I was hearing things. Just when I think they can't stoop even lower. They do. Don't they have a heart? They will do anything to win. (=
- Debunked. This is a lie. Check your facts before believing the liberal blogs. People like you are why we can't have honest debate. Quit spreading rumors.
- Ron and Ralph Fool's Overture. History recalls how great the fall can be, while everybody's sleeping the boats put out to sea. Borne on the wings of time, it seemed the answers were so easy to find. "Too late" the prophets cry, the island's sinking let's take to the sky. Called the man a fool, stripped him of his pride, everyone was laughing up until the day he died. And though the wound went deep, still he's calling us out of our sleep. Apocalypse Now
- You have to have an address to vote, so that you only vote once in ONE district "Homeless voters" are permitted to use the address of a homeless shelter, relative or friend, but it has to be registered within 10 days of obtaining the new address They have to register their new addresses if they want to vote, that's THEIR responsibility. You can't just walk up to the voting booth and say "I lost my home, now I'm living in this district" and expect them to let you vote, because you could do that in 10 different places if they let you. Those are the laws, sorry but we have to follow them EDIT: Do you realize that EVERY time you guys bring this up, you are saying "Republicans know that ONLY Democrats were stupid enough to fall for this ARM lending scam and have lost their homes because of it...AND that Democrats are too stupid or irresponsible to follow voter registration rules"?...Think about what you're alleging for just a second
- wasnt' that how it was back in the 1700's? You know, only landowners could vote?
- they have no shame. A couple things: First of all, I will bet with you that whenever you hear of a group in any state or nationwide that is trying to keep american citizens from voting or making it harder for them to vote. .....I will bet my house and my 2 cars that its a republican group. Basically, you can surmise from this that republicans generally speaking believe its good for them if voter turn out is low..the lower the better for them. that right there should be NUFF SAID !!!.
- The problem with this tactic is that the homes have been foreclosed but that does not mean that the owners have vacated them. I believe I heard that the Republicans decided not to do this only because of the bad PR though. See sources. Edit - xiphos, just because the Republicans are now denying it does not mean that they are being truthful.
- they are just following the law.
- That's because GOP stands for "Greedy Obstinate Pigs." > Source(s): > http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2... Well, the GOP says it's a lie, so it must be. Would they lie? :P I notice that the website called their bluff on the libel suit. And you must be desperate, citing the so-called "liberal" MSNBC.
- I heard about that on the news. That is so low. They want to win so bad. **)
