Upcoming Foreclosures

Should Ohio and Michigan let the GOP disqualify voters in a fashion known as CAGING?

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/16/obama-camp-michigan-gop-aims-to-keep-foreclosure-victims-from-polls/ This is consistent with a pattern and practice of the Republican Party throughout the country . “It’s an absolute attack on their right to vote.” this practice of disqualifying voters by questioning their residence in this fashion, known generally as “caging,” is illegal

  1. Absolutely not, someone who is recently displaced should not be punished, that is what a forwarding address is for.
  2. it wouldn't offset the phony voter registrations that ACORN if flooding the board of elections in cities like Cleveland! look it up if you want the real facts!
  3. I don't see any problem with challenging someones right to vote somewhere if they can't prove they're a Resident. Most likely Obama is just trying to stir things up so they will hesitate to make legitimate challenges to residency. If your not a Resident of an area you can't vote there, but Dems need to keep up the pressure so they can get all the illegal votes they can muster. 4. Caging is illegal yet the Republicans use it all the time, shows you how much they respect the law!
  5. Residency is a tricky question. You can be a resident and not actually live there. People in the military can get shuffled around. So can kids in college. So can ex pats working overseas. If your house was foreclosed upon you remain a resident of that town and precinct until you acquire a new permanent address. I hope that the GOP's plans you cite are not true -- but I wouldn't hold it beyond them.
