What is the best search for newly filed foreclosures and bankruptcies ..HOW?
We want to search newly filed foreclosures and bankruptcies so we don't spend months working on a property only to discover we've wasted not only our time and money, but perhaps others as well. We're told there is a free public records site through State Government where we can monitor foreclosure and bankruptcy filings, but I can't seem to track it down. If you know how to do this search I would greatly appreciate a heads up on it. THANKS

- Realtors have access to this information. I would never consider buying a home without a realtor. Get a mortgage pre-approval letter from your bank so the realtor will treat you with outmost respect. /
- Each county publishes a docket of forthcoming foreclosures. I know that the bankruptcy attorneys get the list, but I don't know where they get it from. I would imagine you could inquire at your county courthouse. That would be a good place to start.
- They all have to be recorded at the county, not the state. The county Recorders Office has all. If they are online you can get the complete list. otherwise, go to the office in person. They have a monitor at the front desk for you to search. You must pay cash at the foreclosure auction. No loans. That's why no one ever bids at the auctions..
