Obama or McCain? Why? Be specific. Use Sources.Intelligent conversation only. No lies or Manipulation of facts?
Ex. I support Obama because.. I want a president who can make us proud as Americans. How great would it be after 7 and ½ years to have an articulate leader, an eloquent speaker, one who is not only willing to talk, but to listen? I believe Obama will be that kind of president. Plus, he has a sense of humor. He has two young daughters and a working wife. He's smart. And let's not forget the magic. Nothing wrong with having the ability to connect with people around the world --young, old, and in-between. In some ways an election is like life – a lot of muck comes your way. It’s hard sometimes to slog through it. It’s exhausting. It can be scary. You can feel like you’re drowning in it. You’ve got to work hard to pull yourself up and out of it, then to rise above it. We need a leader who can help us do that. That's why I'm supporting Barack Obama. All I ask is that you make an informed decision. It's about the issues. It's about health care, the economy, education, the environment, a woman's right to choose, equal pay for equal work -- it's about who will be appointed to the Supreme Court, and it's about never rushing into war again - not without all the facts, not without trying everything we can to prevent war first. This election is too important for all of us to decide in any other way. Economy... the number 1 issue! * Can't do anything at home with $12 billion a month on Iraq. (Feb 2008) * Protect consumers with Credit Card Bill of Rights. (Feb 2008) * More accountability in subprime mortgages. (Feb 2008) * Bush stimulus plan leaves out seniors & unemployed. (Jan 2008) * Voted against limiting credit to 30%, because 30% too high. (Jan 2008) * Account for every single dollar for new proposed programs. (Jan 2008) * Help the homeowners actually living in their homes. (Jan 2008) * Bankruptcy bill pushed by banks &. (Jan 2008) * Lack of an energy policy is a financial burden. (Jan 2008) * Bush & GOP dug budget hole; need years to dig out. (Dec 2007) * Save $150 billion in tax cuts for people who don't need them. (Dec 2007) * Take China "to the mat" about currency manipulation. (Dec 2007) * Rejects free market vision of government. (Oct 2007) * Regulate financial instruments to protect home mortgages. (Aug 2007) * Government regulation needed for when markets fail. (Aug 2007) * Return to PayGo: compensate for all new spending. (Oct 2006) * Bush's economic policies are not working. (May 2004) * Supports federal programs to protect rural economy. (May 2004) * Voted NO on paying down federal debt by rating programs' effectiveness. (Mar 2007) * Voted NO on $40B in reduced federal overall spending. (Dec 2005) * Get minorities into home ownership & global marketplace. (Jan 2001) * Require full disclosure about subprime mortgages. (Dec 2007) * Reform mortgage rules to prevent foreclosure & bankruptcy. (Feb 2008)

- McCain more experience, Military background, Served his country, POW survivor, Doesn’t take crap from either party, he’s an American Hero I'm proud to vote for him.
- I totally agree with you. I'm voting for Obama because I'm really worried about how much our image and reputation in the world has been destroyed by Bush's preempted war and by the isolationism his thumbing his nose at the U.N. has brought us. Obama has a unique background that can only be an asset with dealing with people from other cultures around the world. I'm also voting for him because of his ability to light a fire under young people and make them believe in something bigger than themselves, to give them hope that they are the change that can change the world into a better place. He's smart, well educated, caring, ethical, moral and hard working. And I trust him more than McCain and Palin. McCain will continue the war mongering and isolationism and probably start WWIII and Palin is woefully not suited to the world stage.
- I support Obama because... I believe the American people deserve a president who can mend broken bridges with foriegn powers. America does not exactly have a favorable view from the rest of the world currently, and as this is a global economy and our fate is directly tied to others now foriegn relations are important. I want a leader who I feel is compassionate towards his people. One who cares about the plight of the poor and the working class. I want a president who sees the benefit of sharing the wealth and caring for his people. The less stress people carry the more productive they are. I don't feel that Bush or McCain have been concerned with the poor or working class. It is mostly working class children who are currently serving in Iraq, and most because they were trying to afford to go to college. If they cared so deeply they would be more protective of the lives of your sons and daughters. They have attacked Obama for voting to decrease funds going into the Iraq war but Obama didn't vote to send them there in the first place. I feel that he holds no responsibility for anyones death, but those who voted in favor of the war are responsible. When it really comes down to it Obama for me symbolizes a fair and just view of the world, without prejudice and judgement. I don't think he wants to bottle everyone into a single mold, squeeze out all the individuality until all that is left is mindless drones. He will help bring back a government for the people, by the people. A presidents job is to serve his people, represent his country, and lead by example. I hope that people will remember that "we have nothing to fear but fear itself" and will not make a decision based on fear of an unknown.
