Upcoming Foreclosures

If everyone Understood this would Obama Or cHillary have a chance of getting in?

In Just one year - - - This email comes in three parts: Part 1 In just one year. Remember the election in 2006? Thought you might like to read the following: A little over one year ago: 1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high; 2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon; 3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%. Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen: 1) Consumer confidence plummet; 2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon; 3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase); 4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses); 5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars; 6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure. America voted for change in 2006, and we got it! Remember, it's Congress that makes law not the President. He has to work with what's handed to him. Quote of the Day........"My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it." -- Barack Obama Part 2: Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing. www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html Taxes under Clinton Taxes under Bush 2008 Single making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making 30K - tax $4,500 Single making 50K - tax $14,000 Single making 50K - tax $12,500 Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Single making 75K - tax $18,750 Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 60K- tax $9,000 Married making 75K - tax $21,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750 Married making 125K - tax $38,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250 Both democratic candidates will return to the higher tax rates It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie, The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened. PART 3: You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much? Read this: Boy, am I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us. I now find that to be RIDICULOUS. I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them. I have included the URL's for verification of all the following facts. 1. $11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year by state governments. If this does raise the hair on the back of your neck, I hope you forward it to every legal resident in the country including every representative in Washington, D.C. - five times a week for as long as it takes to restore some semblance of intelligence in our policies and enforcement thereof.

Public Comments

  1. I had no idea the illegal alien problem was costing us that much. Excellent work. Will any Democrats listen? Doubtful...
  2. John McCain will win if based on recent incidents involving national interests and economy if taken into consideration.
  3. If a Republican ever got in office and then followed through with their purported fiscal policy, then I would become a Republican. Good luck with that. Your post is quite long and word wrap was not kind to you; I did not see what military spending is currently at, for comparison. Nevertheless, I must agree; we must stop these outsiders from sharing in our great experiment. This melting pot is ours! Do NOT send us your poor weary starving masses, yearning to be free. That deal is over. We worked hard to kill these indians, and this here land is ours now.
  4. Excellent point. A clear correlation between Democrats taking over congress and the decline of the booming Bush economy. My theory..business owners are in a fetal position waiting for the Dems to kill the Bush tax cuts due to expire. Hell but what do I know I am just a hard working Nokia Navy SEAL. Our motto: Why Fight When You can Phone it In.
  5. Obama never supported Bush's war in Iraq.
  6. Very good post! If taxes do go back to what they were our economy will collapse,, we are near that now because of the price of fuel at the pump. Tax his land, Tax his wage, Tax his bed in which he lays. Tax his tractor, Tax his mule, Teach him taxes is the rule. Tax his cow, Tax his goat, Tax his pants, Tax his coat. Tax his ties, Tax his shirts, Tax his work, Tax his dirt. Tax his tobacco, Tax his drink, Tax him if he tries to think. Tax his booze, Tax his beers, If he cries, Tax his tears. Tax his bills, Tax his gas, Tax his notes, Tax his cash. Tax him good and let him know That after taxes, he has no dough. If he hollers, Tax him more, Tax him until he's good and sore. Tax his coffin, Tax his grave, Tax the sod in which he lays. Put these words upon his tomb, "Taxes drove me to my doom!" And when he's gone, We won't relax, We'll still be after the inheritance TAX!! 7. great post.
  8. Part 1 Post hoc ergo propter hoc. The most basic flaw in reasoning and you give a stellar example of it. Clearly the seeds for much of this were planted long before 2006. The American people saw this coming and turfed the offenders out. Part 2 "Both democratic candidates will return to the higher tax rates" - this is complete fiction. Neither candidate is advocating the complete expiry of the tax cuts. Read thier policies on thier websites - more work than just making stuff up - but more honest and more useful in the long run. Part 3 suggests the cost of Illegal immigrants is 338.3 billion per year. How this relates to the Dem congress is not explained - nor is why the author feels a need to tell such blatant lies to come to this figure. Some of the numbers are inclusive of others and so are being counted twice. The cost of deportation is obviously wrong to include since I would think the author would be the first to say it isn't happening. Remittances should not be counted because it ignores the value added to the economy by these immigrants. So if you and whoever you got this from understood this you would not be presenting it so erroneously.
  9. Let me remind everyone, this administration had complete control of government for six years. In those six years did the republicans secure our borders after nine-eleven? Overturn Roe v Wade? I didn't think so. Were they fiscally responsible? Did they shrink or grow the government? Let me also remind you that in the senate, there is no democratic control or even a slight majority. The president also has his veto pen. Your whole argument is bogus. Our republican president is still holding the reigns and driving this team. Blaming the democrats because they do control the house of representatives is ludicrous. Republicans hold an equal share of the senate and all of the executive branch, a fact conveniently overlooked by you and many other republicans.
  10. You forgot the costs of no health care for so many actual citizens. The war still costs way more than the illegals. You forgot the accelerated export of jobs overseas. But go ahead, don't even try to give us anything that doesn't support your point of view. btw, anecdotally, your tax figures are way way way out of whack. Just look at the tax tables. And if anyone forwarded anything to me five times a week, I would check out their position and probably take the opposite position Finally, try to make a point that someone will actually read all the way through.
  11. I doubt this has any chance of being voted as a good answer in this crowd, but I'll give it a shot just for fun. I can understand your passion, but I think you have your facts wrong. =================================== Summary: 1. Democrats are better for the economy than Republicans. 2. The tax cuts did reduce taxes for everybody, but mostly the very wealthy. Meanwhile, the very wealthy got MUCH MUCH wealthier, while everybody else pretty much stagnated. 3. Nonsense. Answer: Yes, if everyone really understood the facts, the Democrats would have a 100% chance. ============================================ Part I: It is well established that Democratic administrations are better for the economy than Republican ones. There are many theories for why this may be, but the one I favor is quite simple: "Democrats tend to pursue policies that are less likely to run up the debt." Republicans scream and holler about social programs, but the reality is that the military is more than 67% of the total budget federal budget. The Republicans have also done an amazing job at padding the budget with pork. Finally, Democrats seem to believe in paying for government, while the Republicans are happy to borrow and/or print money (which causes inflation). If you do nothing else, take a look at this brilliant image: http://fc01.deviantart.com/fs16/f/2007/124/3/4/Death_and_Taxes__2008_by_mibi.jpg For a nice summary of how much Democrats outperform Republicans in job growth, check out: http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2007_02/010773.php For a detailed and very wonkish analysis of this, see http://angrybear.blogspot.com/2007/02/god-punishes-us-when-we-collectively_19.html Part II: It is true that over the last decade the Republicans have reduced the tax burden for everyone. However, before you celebrate, consider this: the tax rate for the top 1% of taxpayers dropped by 19%, while the tax rate for the middle 20% dropped by only 4%. Meanwhile, the real earnings of that top 1% has doubled, from 8% to 16%, while the income of the middle 20% grew by only 1% (as opposed to 6% from 1995 to 2000). You want to know why our economy is hurtling over a cliff, look no further. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/08/16/politics/main636398.shtml http://www.economist.com/world/displaystory.cfm?story_id=7055911 [subscription only] Part III - immigration I'm not entirely sure what your point is, here. Ignoring the rhetoric, there's not a lot of difference in position between Clinton/Obama and McCain. (But I hope you're aware that your numbers are alarmist, and the math is seriously odd. I'm sure the numbers are inflated, since it looks like they represent on the order of 10-40% of total expenditures for the various programs mentioned. The total of all non-military spending in the US Government budget for 2008 is $358 billion -- are you really trying to argue that illegal immigration costs as much everything else the government does?) SO my response to your question, slightly paraphrased: "If everyone understood [who is better for the economy], would Obama Or cHillary have a chance of getting in?" And my answer is, "Yes. If everyone really understood who is better for the economy, either Democratic candidate would have about 100% chance of being elected."
