Does a lender have the right to change locks on a property where the loan is default but not in foreclosure?

- no
- If you have defaulted on your mortgage, and cannot catch up on your own (as most people cannot) I highly recommend giving AMA - American Modification Agency a call, and speak to the gentleman who helped me; Kevin Pugliese (877) 262-3911 x 2170. AMA ended up saving my home when I thought for sure I was gonna lose it. I couldn't be happier now. Let me know how it goes and I wish you the best!
- If you have received a Notice of Default, you are in foreclosure, but no, they shouldn't be changing the locks. The locks shouldn't be changed until the Bank Owns the property which is after the Auction.
- I have a feeling that you may be unaware of the status of the home. You can rest assured it's in foreclosure. After so many months of "default" it's in foreclosure baby!
