- Did you have a lease with your LL? If yes, call the bank and tell them that you have a lease and that by law they have to take over that lease. If you were a month to month tenant then they have to give you 30 days, they just can't kick you out in 14 days. Either way, right now they are in the wrong.
- Did you already pay for this month? Just take your time. It is very hard to force someone to move. Tell them that you are not sure if you should move or get a lawyer and tell them that some money to help pay for movers might help you decide to leave or not. They will pay you to leave quietly
- If they don't want to work with you, make them evict you. They are just peaved that your LL was pocketing your rent and stiffing them. On the other hand, would you want to buy the house? Maybe you could get a good deal on a short sale and save them the time and money involved with the foreclosure process. They may even have special financing for these situations. Contact someone in local government regarding tenants rights. Local housing authority, etc. or just call the main administrative offices for your area and ask them who you can talk to about your rights. Good luck either way.
