Where can I find a real estate agent that sells pre & foreclosures in Washingon D.C. metro area & Norther VA?
I've been told to go to a local court house, if its true, what do I need to bring? do they have it online? I have bad credit and I know I won't be able to pay the $250k and up in this area, but I can't stand living in a room with my husband at my sisters house anymore!! I've looked into HUD homes and went to vhda.com and I wanted to talk to some agent and see the tax sale properties or pre or foreclosure homes. Thanks for any info you can give me!

- they all do just ask for a hud house listing
- Foreclosures and pre-foreclosures are handled differently in each state. In Texas we have listings 21 days in advance of which properties are due to be foreclosed upon on the first Tuesday of the month and any body can go pick up the listing. Many realtors do that for people for whom they are "buyer's representatives". I would suggest contacting the Keller Williams offices in the area and find out if they have an agent who would be willing to be your buyer's representative, letting them know the types of properties in which you are interested. Especially on foreclosures it is important to do a title search to see if there are any existing 2nd liens, mechanic's liens, etc. Standard disclaimer: this is not legal advice and cannot be considered legal advice as I am not licensed to practice law in any form. Please contact a real estate lawyer in your area for legal advice regarding your specific situation.
