How do I find real estate foreclosures in my area? Hello, I'm an aspiring real estate investor. I've done my research and would like to buy a foreclosed home at a lowered price in the Mississauga area. How would I go about finding out where they are located? Should I just go ask the local banks?
Real Estate Pre-foreclosures: Are the offers too good to be true? I was wondering if the advertising that says "$600.00 per month, take over payments, house in pre-foreclosure" for homes that (under normal circumstances) would cost several thousand a month can possibly be for real, or are these scams? They are usually listed under "rentals" and lead to the same webpage w/an identifier number. My husband and I just want to rent at this time, and we keep finding these "come-ons" on the rental sites. Does anyone have any experience w/this?
Why are banks buying their own foreclosures at real estate auctions? I've been to a few New York Real Estate auctions at courthouses recently and often the banks are buying the properties back, They either have a specified bid they come in with or will outbid the public. I don't understand. Don't these banks want these properties off the books?

I need a real estate agent who is familiar with pre-foreclosures in Southern California? I'm starting my own business in pre-forclosures based on the "Dream Big" by Bob McManus concept. I wanted to ask some questions to any intrested in working as a Real Estate contact for this type of business. - How long have you been dealing with pre-foreclosures? - How quickly can you turnaround a property? - I've heard the housing market has slowed down some.....do you think you can get the same kind of sale turnaround time? - Is there paperwork required prior to working toegther, or what is required?
DO real estate appraisals compare single owner homes to foreclosures when looking at price? My house just went under contract to sell. A lot of houses that have sold in my neighborhood in the last 6 months have been foreclosures, with very low prices. Are these the comps my appraiser will be looking at, or do they have to exclude foreclosures? Most of the non-foreclosures that have sold have been priced higher than me, but are bigger. I am worried, I want out!
real estate foreclosures? Do you still have to owe the money in which u purchased the home back to bank if you foreclose? Would it be better to sell it for half the price of what you bought it for? I don't understnad this stuff.
What are the best real estate books to begin with for self-education? I'm looking to change careers into real estate, and have a personal interest in beginning a portfolio of investment properties. What are the best books out there dealing with real estate finance, buying foreclosures, renting properties, flipping, and understanding the general market? Also, what newspapers/magazines do you recommend?
real estate sites, foreclosures... is it really a good deal? My husband and I are in the process of buying a house for the last 4 months. For different reasons that are beyond our control the closing date is posponed everytime. We are tired. I quit my job because we were supposed to move. So if we apply for a loan for another house we won't get it, so we thought to go back renting for a year or two. But then I found an ad about people looking for tenants to take over their morgages. This info came from a site selling lists of such preforeclosed houses. They claim that they have listings of houses that we can get without going through the process of checking of our credit and jobs, without having to get a loan. Can I trust to pay money to this site for the listings? Who should I talk to for legal questions? That sounds like a good opporunity for us, but is it real?
on Yahoo Real Estate - Can you buy Houses in Foreclosure at their listing price? I'm starting to learn about real estate in general. A house in my neighborhood on yahoo real esate is in foreclosure with $25,000 left to pay on the house. Can you make an offer to the bank to pay that $25,000 off and take ownership of the house? Or do you have to go to the auction and bid that? Please answer both questions. Thanks.
